I have fallen in love with DEM, from Milan, who has created crazy amazing (hows about “cramazing”) murals for the “Breakin’ the Wall” project in Wrocław, Poland – in celebration of street art post-1989.

… I saw the above giant carrot on the wooster collective today, and if it were possible to marry a work of art and buy a starter home with it and spend hours together on our porch sipping ice coffee and watching the rain, I would do it with this carrot-tree (found in antwerp belgium).

Artist Golan Levin made a giant, curious, googley-eyed, robotic, worm-cyclops who watches over visitors to the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts. One day, I hope to thoroughly confuse the future neighbors of my future home with one of these. Watch the video because it brings joy:

sometimes, I have this vision myself, circa 2060, hanging out on a porch with a swingy-bench thing, holding a glass of limeade and a shotgun, swearing at children with my southern-accent that has magically returned. But ever since discovering Advanced Style (my favorite site of the moment), I have the same vision except I am also very dapperly dressed.

As it turns out, the super-real and not-at-all mythological giftdonkey I discovered in Ethiopia last week, was not a bizarre crytpozoological anomaly: IT IS PART OF A MASSIVE GLOBAL GIFTDONKEY MOBILIZATION.

According to the NYTimes, giftdonkeys are now organizing in Colombia as “biblioburros” (awesome alliterative agnomen!) who deliver books to people in remote villages across the country.

Dearling NYC-folk,

May I humbly recommend waiting in the absurdly long line to view mysterypants-british-street-artist Banksy‘s “Village Pet Store and Charcoal Grill” on 7th avenue between Bleeker and W.4th. It puts the ‘bing’ back in disturbing, or something. whatever. go see it because it’s only here until halloween (yay ephermal!).

Many thanks to the batsheva-dear (and her brother) for sharing with me the clever photo-tourism of michael hughes, because, really now, how have I missed this? it’s right up my alley.* Here’s an article about him on the Daily Mail (UK).
