mapparently, may is mollusk month
Just when you thought you had seen the final slug this month on NSTGD, the folk behind the “little people” tiny street art project have gone and a-started graffiti-ing snail shells…

and they call it Inner City Snail, and it makes me all pitter-pattery with joy. Also, the little people take snail public transport it seems…

swoon.
Also - hello! to the 1 billion extra hits I have gotten since the lovely jules over at ikeahacker posted my fira-shelf becomes disco-drawers how-to.

I am a bit worried that the paint and glue involved might seep through the mucous membranes of these little critters and result in some sort of injury? Also, how do you hold a snail still enough to color on it without risking mollusk injury?
mayhaps they paint empty snail shells and allow the naked snails to choose their favorite?
Snails don’t do that. The shell grows with them.
Part of the snail survival strategy is to fit underneath, between, into, etc small spaces. I’m imagining that the glued on figures might interfere with that process. Also, the snails are probably more vulnerable to predators. I’m sorry to possibly rain on your parade. Have I mentioned that I’ve watched A LOT of nature videos recently?
Maybe they should build little dioramas with people and structures, and then let the naturally shelled snails slowly ooze over everything, in a snail-pace apocalypse?
In good news, I quit doing illicit things for a long ass time. It was interfering with my mental health and creativity. This means that I’m gonna blog and draw my ass off. Beware of silly lookin vampires!
oh my god. that is fabulous. getto fabulous, of course.
This is all just a bit odd. Makes me wonder if people don’t have anything else to do with themselves. Oh well, I guess its better than throwing salt on the poor snails now isn’t it?
